Critical yield-point model to estimate damage caused by brown spot and powdery mildew in barley Ciência Rural
Agostinetto,Lenita; Casa,Ricardo Trezzi; Bogo,Amauri; Sachs,Cristiano; Reis,Erlei Melo; Kuhnem,Paulo Roberto.
Barley (Hordeum vulgaris L.) is the second most important winter crop in Southern Brazil. The excessive rainfall in this region during the crop-growing season increases the frequency and intensity of foliar fungal diseases. The research aimed to determine the damage function equations (DFE) for the multiple pathosystem of barley brown spot and powdery mildew based on the relationship between grain yield and diseases intensity at different 'BRS Cauê' cultivar growth stages (GS) during 2009 and 2010 growing seasons in Southern Brazil. The experiments were arranged in a randomized complete block design with nine treatments and four replicates. The disease gradients were generated by strobilurins and triazols fungicides rates and number of applications on...

Diagnosis of directed pollination services in apple orchards in Brazil Rev. Bras. Frutic.
Rosa,Joatan Machado da; Arioli,Cristiano João; Blochtein,Betina; Agostinetto,Lenita; Grutzmacher,Anderson Dionei; Botton,Marcos.
Abstract The pollination services performed by Apis mellifera are essential for the high-quality apple production. The aim of this study was to obtain information about the pollination services used in the municipalities of Vacaria-RS e São Joaquim-SC, the main apple-producing regions in Brazil. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with apple growers and technicians responsible for the orchards during 2013 and 2015. The obtained information was: a) cropping systems; b) use of pollination services; c) number of hives per hectare during flowering; d) renting value of hives; e) mortality of colonies; f) agrochemicals used on flowering; g) presence of native bees on flowering. In Vacaria and São Joaquim, respectively, 70% and 68.6% of the apple growers...

Potato genotypes reaction to early blight and late blight in organic cultivation Ciência Rural
Busnello,Fábio José; Boff,Mari Inês Carissimi; Agostinetto,Lenita; Souza,Zilmar da Silva; Boff,Pedro.
ABSTRACT: Disease management in conventional potato crops requires the use of larger amounts of phytosanitary products and increased toxicity with regard to organic cultivation which may pose a risk to human health and have a negative impact on the environment as well. The present study aimed to evaluate the yield and the reaction of potato genotypes to both late blight and to early blight under an organic system of cultivation. Eperiments were conducted in the field in the municipalities of Lages, SC and Quilombo, SC, south Brazil, during the crops of 2012/2013 and 2013/2014. The experimental design consisted of a randomized complete block design with 4 replications; The following eight local clones from the Santa Catarina mountain range (serra) were...
